Iceland is the theme for our Earth Day dinner experience. Here, the planet is still taking shape before your very eyes – raw, dramatic landscapes born from volcanic eruptions and carved out by glaciers. So let yourself be inspired by the glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes, raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls. And give your table a "wild look" by cutting branches from your favourite bush and placing them in water in recycled tins. Earth Day is one of two observance…s, both held annually, to inspire environmental awareness. The United Nations celebrates an Earth Day each year on the March equinox, a tradition which was started by peace activist John McConnell in 1969. A second Earth Day, which was initiated by U.S. politician Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in the late 1970s, is celebrated in many countries each year on April 22nd.
